چکیده
Increased energy consumption and the depletion of petroleum reserves have pushed up oil prices globally. Diminishing reserve is another global risk factor. ProducingBiodiesel vegetable oils animal fat by transesterification can be a considerable alternative. In this study, biodiesel produced from waste cooking method with methanol in presence HCl as catalyst. Biodiesel production begins mixing raw collected used into one pool. The mixture then settled for 8 hours at room temperature before initiating process 90oC (1% weight) methanol, while methanol: ratio 1:4. lasts 9 h under condenser. purification carried out washing product twice hot water (temperature 70°C) to remove excess reactants byproducts such alcohol, catalysts, soap glycerine, fatty acid methyl ester (FAME). resulting diesel density 3.72 kg/m (at 15oC), kinematic viscosity 8.93 mm/sec., 40oC, calorific value was 41299 kj/kg, Total number 0.111 oil, Cetane 48.95, (AV) 1.135 mg/koh Ester (EV) 178.42 mg/koh. Saponification (SV) 179.56 mg/koh, pH 5.7, Glycerol Weight 97.53 (Gw).

Enzymatic Alholysis For Biodiesel Production From Waste Cooking Oil
Huge efforts have been carried out in recent years in order to develop an alternative fuel from renewable resources, such as biodiesel fuel. Therefore, the use of cooking oil as raw material is a very interesting alternative for the production of biodiesel. In this work, waste frying oil was used as raw material for enzymatic biodiesel production. Moreover, this study analyzes the influence of ...

متن کاملEfficient Synthesis of Biodiesel From Waste Cooking Oil Catalysed by Al2O3 Impregnated with NaOH
Due to the high price of virgin vegetable oils and the drawbacks of the homogeneous catalytic transesterification, in this work an economically profitable alternative process was proposed for biodiesel synthesis in which transesterification of the low-cost waste cooking oil (WCO) with methanol in a heterogeneous system was done. Alumina impregnated with sodium hydroxide was utilized as a solid ...
متن کاملA Two-step Catalytic Production of Biodiesel from Waste Cooking Oil
Waste cooking oil (WCO) was used as a potential feedstock for biodiesel production. High levels of free fatty acids (9.85% w/w) in WCO made it an undesirable substrate for direct transesterification reaction. To solve this issue, a two-step process was implemented in this research. Firstly, esterification reaction was performed in presence of sulfuric acid as a common acid catalyst to reduce th...
متن کاملWaste Cooking Oil as an Alternate Feedstock for Biodiesel Production
As crude oil price reach a new high, the need for developing alternate fuels has become acute. Alternate fuels should be economically attractive in order to compete with currently used fossil fuels. In this work, biodiesel (ethyl ester) was prepared from waste cooking oil collected from a local restaurant in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ethyl alcohol with sodium hydroxide as a catalyst was use...
